PV Schools

Dear Putnam Valley Community:

As we near the end of what I hope was a wonderful summer for all, we are eager to welcome our students back to school. As usual, the reopening of schools has been the focus of many throughout the summer, our buildings and grounds staff have ensured that our facilities have been meticulously cleaned and our grounds well manicured. Our technology department has retrofitted and installed many new interactive displays and has offered professional training sessions to help support the use of those instructional tools. Administrators and office staff members have worked throughout the summer to prepare for the successful beginning of a new school year. Finally, our teachers have been in school writing new lesson plans, updating curriculum, and preparing their classrooms for the return of our students.

Each year begins with a great deal of preparation and optimism, this may be just a little more true this year. As we continue to put the struggles of the past several years behind us, we remain eager to improve our instructional models and offer the students of Putnam Valley the best educational experience possible.

While many of the COVID-related restrictions from last year have been removed, we continue to ask that individuals continue to closely monitor for symptoms and request that any child who is not feeling well remain at home.

It is sure to be another amazing year here in Putnam Valley. Our students will continue to showcase their talents in the classroom, on the stage, and through a variety of athletic events.  Records will be set and new achievements will occur all under the watchful eye of talented educational professionals who work diligently to support our students.

We look forward to seeing students on Thursday, September 1, and Friday, September 2. Please check your communications from the building principals regarding staggered start days for our students.

Welcome back!

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeremy Luft
Superintendent of Schools
