Dear Putnam Valley Parents and Caregivers:
As you are aware, we have enjoyed a fairly snow-free winter thus far. Over the past six years, at least, we have had a number of snow or other emergency days, and have not had to re-examine our school calendar. As of today, we have used only one of the three ‘snow days’ built into our calendar. To that end, we will be making the following adjustment to our calendar with regret for the inconveniences that this may cause you and your families.
If there are no snow emergency days between now and the spring break (March 21-25), the Monday following Easter, March 28, will be added to the break. There will be no school on that day, unless there is a snow or emergency day by March 18.
This is an unusual year, and like other districts, we needed to make adjustments to our calendar. We know that these changes can be an inconvenience for families and we thank you for your understanding.
