Dear Putnam Valley Community:
We were notified today regarding an incident in which a student has reported that a car stopped at their bus stop and asked the student to get into the car. The student refused and safely returned to their home. We immediately contacted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department who is still actively investigating this incident. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have to share at this time, but felt it was important to share what we can with the community. If the Sheriff’s Department provides additional information that we can share, we will do so immediately. This is an opportunity to reinforce appropriate responses regarding this type of incident with our children.

Vehicle: White convertible
Driver: Caucasian male with glasses and a beard
The Sheriff’s Department investigation is continuing.
