This fall marked the founding of the Putnam Valley Athletic Hall of Fame. This exciting new initiative is designed to honor the extraordinary achievements of our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters who have made significant contributions to the success of our athletic program.
After a thorough review of dozens of nominations, It is my privilege to announce our 2023 Inductees: The 2005 State Championship Field Hockey Team and Mr. Tommy Hirsch.
Mr. Hirsch was an integral part of the athletic community, serving as a volunteer and supporter of our student-athletes and teams. He demonstrated a deep commitment to the athletic program and worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for our student-athletes to excel on and off the field. Mr. Hirsch made a significant impact on the lives of countless athletes and coaches and has left a lasting legacy that will be felt for generations to come.
As our first full-team inductees, The 2005 Field Hockey Team will forever be remembered as one of the most successful and accomplished teams in the history of Putnam Valley Athletics. They set a standard of excellence on and off the field that future teams have aspired to emulate. Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance were evident in every game they played, and their accomplishments continue to be celebrated to this day.
We are honored to recognize the contributions of the 2005 Field Hockey Team, and Mr. Hirsch, by inducting them into the Putnam Valley Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place immediately following the Varsity Awards Ceremony at 5:30 pm on June 12, 2023, in the PVHS Performing Arts Center. The event will be open to the public.
