Congratulations to the Putnam Valley Athletic Hall of Fame 2024 Inductees:

Michael and Steven Ammann – Class of 2004 – Twin brothers, Mike and Steve, were amongst the most successful pioneers of the newly minted Putnam Valley High School and have left a long-standing legacy of athletic success at the highest levels. They were captains of the first league championship teams in both football and lacrosse, as well as the first section championship lacrosse team! In addition to their numerous awards and accolades here in Putnam Valley, the brothers went on to earn scholarships to the University of Albany, where they continued their lacrosse careers and led the team to an NCAA Tournament Berth. After college, and again together, Mike and Steve were both drafted to the NY Titans of Major League Lacrosse, where they continued to play professionally.

Rahhim Shillingford – Class of 2013 – Rahhim, a football standout, left his mark on the Putnam Valley Athletic Program both on and off the field. On the field, Rahhim was a 4-year starter for the football team and was the first student-athlete to play college football at the Division 1 level. Off the field, Rahhim was the first-ever Putnam Valley Heart of a Giant Award nominee in school history, an award presented by the New York Giants to individuals who demonstrate commitment, character, teamwork, dedication, a relentless work ethic, and an unmatched love for the game! After a successful playing career, Rahhim returned to Putnam Valley for several years to continue to support the Athletic Program as an assistant football coach.

Our three inductees exemplify athletic prowess, commitment to excellence, and unwavering sportsmanship, and serve as great role models for our aspiring student-athletes. Please join me in congratulating these deserving Putnam Valley Alumni on achieving this great honor.

The track and turf at Putnam Valley High School are currently CLOSED for scheduled repair and replacement. This project will continue through the summer months.
