Dear PVMS Families,
The countdown has begun as June is upon us and many of our students have summer on their minds. Although we will be on summer vacation starting the week of June 26th, we are still engaged in vital learning opportunities and assessments through our last day on June 23rd. Please note that June 23rd will be a half day for students and we will be dismissing at 11:00AM on that day.
Thank you for partnering with us over the course of the school year. Our students have been engaged, thoughtful, resilient, and ever changing through their journey of middle school. It takes a village to raise a child and your support is more important now than ever before.
As we finish up the school year, I want to take the time to commend those students and families that saw the opportunity to take NYS assessments in preparation for standardized assessments that our students will encounter in the near future. Our mathematics, reading, and science assessments present a framework that will only better prepare students for what is to come in high school and to show off their knowledge. We will continue to work through the remainder of the school year and over the summer to ensure our curriculum and programs continue to educate the whole child.
Eighth grade will have a final exam schedule that will begin on June 13th. Our Eighth Grade Moving Up Ceremony will be taking place on Wednesday, June 21st at 5:00PM in the High School Performing Arts Center. This will be followed by a Moving Up Dance at Cortlandt Colonial from 7:00 – 9:30PM.
