Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

I would like to begin by wishing all of you wonderful moms, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters a very Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow!  May you be surrounded by love and care, knowing how much you mean to your loved ones! Thank you to our wonderful PVES “moms” on staff, for all they do for so many each and every day.  Enjoy your special day!

Thank you to the PTA for providing our staff with a wonderful breakfast, luncheon, and special surprise treats this week for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week!  We are so thankful for the generosity of the PTA in recognizing our amazing staff for all of their efforts this year.  It was a special week, and we felt the appreciation.  Thank you!

Please remember that our PVCSD District Budget Vote will take place in the elementary school cafeteria on Tuesday, May 18th.  We encourage you to vote. Please remind your friends and neighbors of this important day for our school district.

Congratulations to our third and fourth graders who took the NYS Math Exam this week.  We are always so proud of our students for always giving their very best effort. Thank you also to their many teachers who have worked so hard to get them prepared to meet their academic goals.

Please note the change in the end of year calendar that was approved by our BOE this past week.  Thursday, June 24th, will now be a half-day of school for our elementary students.  Dismissal will take place at 12:00 noon.  There will now be no school for students on Friday, June 25th.  This will be a staff day. Information about our Fourth Grade Moving Up Parade will be sent to fourth grade parents for Friday, June 25th.

We look forward to holding our in-person Kindergarten Screening Days this coming week.  I know we are all looking forward to a fresh start in September with our newest class of learners!

Enjoy this special weekend.  Thank you, as always, for working so closely with us!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
