Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

Thank you to so many of you who were able to meet with your children’s teachers for Parent/Teacher Conferences on Friday.  We hope that these meetings helped to provide important feedback and support for your child, and that academic and behavioral goals for the remainder of the year are reached over the next few months.  We greatly appreciate your collaboration and cooperation in all that we do.  Our strong home-school communication is key to your child’s success!

Brief Progress Reports for this quarter will be distributed during the first week of May.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out directly to your child’s teachers.  This has been a unique and challenging school year, but we are so proud of the students’ progress!

The NYS testing days for ELA and Math, for our third and fourth graders, have been changed.  The ELA testing date will be held on Tuesday, April 27th.  The Math testing date will be on Thursday, May 6th.

Thank you to our PTA who has arranged for a Virtual Book Fair to take place from Monday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 16th.  We look forward to being able to shop for these wonderful book deals safely and online this year.

As this final quarter of this school year begins, please encourage your children to give their very best, and to be prepared for school each and every day.  Good attendance (in-school and remotely) is vital to your child’s engagement in learning, and all children should be reading at home every single night.  Parents of students in Grades K-3 will soon be receiving a “Parent Information Sheet” which you are invited to fill out. This information helps us to place students carefully in their classes for next year.  Thank you for taking the time to complete this sheet, which will be sent out within the next week.

Enjoy the remainder of this weekend.  Let’s begin this 4th quarter with lots of positive energy!

Thank you for all you do,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
