Dear PVES Families,
Thank you to all who were able to attend our wonderful Back-to-School Nights this past week. We truly appreciate your cooperation and your partnership in your child’s education. As always, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teachers if you ever have any questions. All faculty members can be reached by emailing first initial, last name@pvcsd.org. My email is mpodesta@pvcsd.org, and Mrs. Robey can be reached at crobey@pvcsd.org. Our Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place in November, when the 1st Quarter Progress Reports will be shared. Formal Report Cards will be available at the mid-year point in January.
Please be reminded that there will be no school for students on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23rd and 24th, in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Schools will be closed on Thursday, October 2nd in honor of Yom Kippur. There will be no school on Columbus Day, Monday, October 13th. Thank you for marking your calendars.
Our Elementary School Picture Day will take place on Monday, September 29th. Individual and whole class photos will be taken on that day, and we thank you for volunteering to help the PTA with this schedule. Students who are signed up for re-takes will be able to have them taken on Friday, November 21st. Sibling pictures may be taken after school on November 21st, sometime after 3:40 PM in our Auditorium.
I want to thank our skilled faculty and staff for the outstanding school opening we have had this month. Your children are quickly settling into their school routines and new classroom settings, and our student-centered schedule is allowing the children to make the most of their learning opportunities. Your children have come to school ready to learn and grow. It is sure to be a wonderful year ahead. Our first Character Education theme is “Positive Thinking,” and there is a lot of that taking place!
Thank you for supporting your children’s homework routines with a structured schedule and early bedtime. The weather has been perfect for outdoor play. Enjoy the time together each day!
Thank you for your kindness and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
