Dear PVES Families,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! This is a time of great excitement, fresh starts, new friends, and lots of learning. School begins tomorrow, and our teachers and staff are ready to welcome your children warmly into their beautiful new classrooms. It is sure to be a wonderful year ahead!
Our school day runs from 9:12 AM to 3:20 PM each day. All children will follow their regular dismissal plans unless a dismissal note is written with a change in plans. If you have questions or concerns about dismissal, please email Mrs. Sillery at dsillery@pvcsd.org. All elementary students must be met by an adult at their afternoon bus stop. If no adult is present, the child will be brought back to school, and you will be contacted. Please keep in mind that morning and afternoon buses may arrive a bit earlier or later than usual during the first couple of weeks of school, so thank you for your flexibility.
If you would like your child to get breakfast at school each day, please email this plan to Mrs. Tavares at ltavares@pvcsd.org. There will be no charge for student breakfasts or lunches this year. (Second servings and snacks are not free).
Are your child’s immunizations up to date? As per NYS law, we must have official documentation that these immunizations are complete. If you have questions, please contact our health office.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our PTA Back to School Picnic on this Thursday, September 4th, at 5:00 PM. Bring your picnic dinner, lawn chairs or blankets, and a dessert to share. This is not a drop off event, so thank you for watching your children closely.
Our Back to School Nights are quickly approaching. Parents of children in Grades 3 & 4 are invited to our BTS Night on Tuesday, September 9th, at 6:30 PM. Parents of children in Grades 1 & 2 are invited to our BTS Night on Wednesday, September 10th, at 6:30 PM. There will be a great deal of information shared on these evenings, so we thank you for joining us.
As you know, students are not allowed to bring cell phones, smart watches, or any other electronics to school. We thank you for your cooperation.
We look forward to introducing you to our new staff members and to greeting your precious children with great excitement and care. We have missed them, and we are privileged to be working with them each day.
As always, if you have any questions, you can email me at mpodesta@pvcsd.org. Mrs. Robey, Assistant Principal, can be emailed at crobey@pvcsd.org. We value your positive communication and partnership.
Let’s get this year started!
Warmly,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
