Dear PVES Families,
Our students are heading into another wonderful, full week of school, and we are so excited about the academic progress they are making. By now, you should have all received invitations to IN-PERSON Parent/Teacher Conferences in November. If you would like to meet with a specific teacher (Physical Education, Art, Music, Innovation Lab, Band, Psychologist, Reading Support, Math Support, etc.), please email each staff member directly at first initial, last name @ pvcsd.org. Our talented faculty members look forward to this opportunity to meet with you at the end of the first quarter of the school year. We are aiming for 100% attendance! Thank you for reaching out to make sure these meetings happen!
As you know, our November calendar is a busy one. Please note these specific dates, as the school day calendar will be affected:
Tuesday, November 7th: No school for students (Superintendent’s Conference Day)
Friday, November 10th: Schools closed, Veteran’s Day
Tuesday, November 14th: PVES Half-Day Dismissal (12:00)/Parent Teacher Conferences
Tuesday, November 21st: PVES Half-Day Dismissal
Wednesday-Friday, November 22, 23, 24: Schools closed, Thanksgiving Holiday
On Tuesday, October 31st, all staff and students are welcome to bring their Halloween costumes to school for our full school parade, which is for students and staff only. All costume materials should be labeled, and no scary masks or costume weapons can be brought in. We look forward to a wonderful time, and we thank you for your cooperation!
This Wednesday, October 25th, our annual First Responder Read Aloud will be taking place in our elementary classrooms. We look forward to a very special morning, where our local First Responder volunteers will visit our classrooms, read a story, and share about the very important work that they do. If you are a First Responder and would like to volunteer to visit us, please email me directly at mpodesta@pvcsd.org. Thank you for all you do!
Just a reminder to all families that students are discouraged from bringing toys, trading cards, and other objects from home to school. These items can cause upset for your child and other children when they are lost, traded, or broken. We appreciate your support with this.
Our School Picture Re-take Day will take place during the morning of Thursday, November 2nd. Please see the PTA Photo information for more details.
Thank you for supporting your child’s structured and stress-free homework routines, daily reading and math fact practice, and regular bedtimes during the school week. Thank you for sending your children to school on time and ready to learn each and every day. We make a great team!
Enjoy the week ahead and the beautiful fall weather that is coming our way. This is such a great time of year for outdoor play and family adventures. Enjoy the PVEF Trunk or Treat next week!
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming fall conferences!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
