Dear PVES Families,
Thank you to our Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department for providing wonderful fire safety lessons to all of our PVES students this week. We greatly appreciate the important safety information, the connection to community, and the fire hats and treats. This is always such a special day for us, and our children learned so much. As a school, we continue to practice fire drills throughout the fall months, even when it is a little cooler outside. We will keep you posted as we continue to practice the important lockdowns, lockouts, and other safety drills throughout the year.
Many classes have already begun scheduling field trips this year. Parents, please note that sometimes there is a limited number of chaperones that can accompany us on a trip. Thank you for understanding. This is also an important reminder that younger siblings should not be brought with chaperones while helping in the classroom or attending a field trip. This goes along with our school district policy, and it is an important safety and supervision measure. Thank you for your cooperation.
As we move into mid-October, our students are nicely adjusting to their more demanding classwork and homework routines. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please reach out to the classroom teacher. Our parent/teacher conferences will be taking place on the scheduled dates in November. Please make sure your appointment is set up! If you would like to meet with any special area teachers or support staff, please call the main office, or email a teacher directly using first initial, last name @pvcsd.org. We encourage regular communication about your child’s progress!
The apple and pumpkin picking weather is finally here! Enjoy this special time with your family, with all of the outdoor activities. The snowy weather will be here all too soon!
Have a great weekend ahead. Please check the Weekly Notices and the Calendar Scroll for important information and upcoming events.
Thank you for all you do!
Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
Principal
