Dear PVES Families,
We have had a wonderfully busy week at PVES, and we have had the chance to see many of you at our exciting student-centered events! Congratulations to our third and fourth grade student athletes who participated in the amazing Gym Show on Wednesday! Thank you to Mrs. Aurigemma and to Mr. Heitman for all of their work with these talented students, and congrats to all on an amazing performance! The children performed for three separate audiences in one day, and one show was better than the next!
Congratulations also to our adorable Kindergarten students who performed their musical show for parents and friends on Friday afternoon. We are so proud of these children, and it is always amazing to see how quickly they grow! The songs and smiles filled the auditorium with such joy, and the students were so well prepared! Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun and to our entire Kindergarten team for all of their caring efforts with our Kindergarten students. The show was just wonderful!
There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of this coming week, in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy this special family time with your loved ones, and please take the time with your children to give thanks for even the smallest things in life. Feeling gratitude and empathy is such an important part of social and emotional development.
Please mark your calendars for the PTA Holiday Reads Event on Saturday, December 7th, from 11:00 to 2:00 in the PVES cafeteria. We welcome you to attend this event with your children to enjoy stories, crafts, and treats. This is such a warm and festive event.
I would like to thank our fourth-grade Fall Safety Patrollers who have done such a nice job keeping us safe and orderly during arrival and dismissal during the past few months. We now welcome our Winter Safety Patrollers who have taken over these important posts. It is wonderful to see our students step up to responsible leadership positions in our school.
Enjoy this very busy time of year. Please make every effort to keep your child on a regular homework and bedtime schedule, even though the days get full. Attendance and punctuality are so important to the learning day, and we thank you for making this a priority in your home.
Thank you all for the generous donations to our Holiday Food Drive! Our Character Education Committee members were able to donate a large amount of food to families in need, and we thank you so very much for your support.
Enjoy the weekend and have a very Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you peace, health, and happiness at the beginning of this holiday season!
Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
