Dear PVES Families,
Happy November! Today is another beautiful PV Pride Day at our school, and we have so much to celebrate! We were lucky enough to squeeze in a fun-filled outdoor Halloween Parade yesterday with all grade levels, and the rain held off enough to keep our costumes dry and ready for an evening of trick or treating. Thank you for all you do to have your child prepared for our school events, and we hope you enjoyed your Halloween at home!
We are collecting Treats for Troops! If you have extra candy to spare, please send it in to be dropped off in boxes near our main office. Thank you to our PTA and Character Ed Committee who have helped to arrange for this donation effort. The candy will be appreciated!
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success, and we thank all of our PTA volunteers who made this possible. We look forward to another Book Fair in the spring! Thank you for your purchases and for encouraging the love of reading!
Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour tomorrow night, and enjoy the extra sleep! This is a great opportunity to re-set homework and bedtime schedules, so that your children are getting enough sleep each night. Attendance and punctuality at school count for so much and help to build a strong foundation for the future while getting each day off to a great start! Thank you for your help with this!
The November calendar is a busy one! Please check the school calendar carefully. Schools will be closed for elementary students this Tuesday, November 5th for Superintendent’s Conference Day, and on Friday, November 8th, for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Schools will be closed on Monday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day. Picture re-takes will take place on November 13th. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:00 on Thursday, November 14th, due to Parent/Teacher Conferences at night. However, if you would like to meet with a specialist or a professional support staff person in the afternoon on November 14th, they will be available. These staff members can be reached by calling the main office at 845-528-8092, or by emailing them at first initial, last name @pvcsd.org. This includes all special classes, such as physical education, art, music, and technology.
We will soon begin our Holiday Drive for Thanksgiving foods for families in need. More information will follow from our Character Ed committee. Thank you in advance for your contributions. Our children learn so much when they see how we care for others.
Enjoy the weekend ahead. It looks to be a sunny one!
Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
