Dear PVES Families,
I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend, and that you were able to honor the significance of the Memorial Day holiday. We are now about to begin the final month of the school year! How did June get here so quickly?
Please be reminded that there is an anticipated change in our school calendar for the end of the year. It is expected that the Board of Education will approve a calendar change for the elementary school, changing Thursday, June 22nd, and Friday, June 23rd, to half-days, with 12:00 dismissal times for students. Thank you for making sure that you have childcare for these afternoons. Schools will be closed on Monday, June 19th, in honor of the Juneteenth holiday.
The Fourth Grade Moving Up Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 21st, at 10 AM. All attendees must have a ticket to enter. Ticket and ceremony information will be distributed to fourth grade families soon. We look forward to this special day.
Our PVES Field Day is scheduled for this Friday, June 2nd, during the morning hours. We will watch the weather carefully and make changes if necessary. Students should wear their grade level-colored t-shirts for this day, or their Field Day t-shirts. (We will wear them again during our PVES Spirit Week).
Our ES Spirit Week will be held from June 12th through June 16th. Please mark these special days on your calendar:
Monday, June 12th: Crazy Hat & Hair Day
Tuesday, June 13th: Crazy Socks or Neon Color Day
Wednesday, June 14th: Flag Day – Red, White, and Blue
Thursday, June 15th: Let’s wear those Field Day t-shirts/colors AGAIN!
Friday, June 16th: “Extra” PV Pride Day: Blue & White
Congratulations to our Fourth Grade students who performed in their Band & Chorus Spring Concert this past week! The students performed for our elementary classes (1-3) during the day and for their families at night. Thank you to Mrs. Bennett and to Mrs. Calhoun for their wonderful work with the students!
We are looking forward to our Summer Boost weeks at PVES this year! All current K-4 students are invited to attend four mornings of academic refresher time from Monday, August 14th through Thursday, August 17th, from 9:00 to 12:00. More information will be coming soon.
All school library books should be returned by Friday, June 9th. Thank you for reminding your children to gather these books and return them to school.
