Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

We are “Marching” into a brand-new month, with many great things happening at PVES! This week, we celebrate “Read Across America,” enjoying the rhyming stories of Dr. Seuss, and the love of all children’s literature. We will begin the week with “Cat in the Hat Day” tomorrow, with all students welcome to wear HATS to school! Please see the attached flyer for the theme for each day this week. We hope the students enjoy these community learning days!

Our Fourth Grade Science/Maker Fair will take place in our Auditorium this Thursday, March 6th, from 6:30 to 7:10 PM. All are welcome to attend. We are so proud of the work that our young scientists have done to prepare for this special event. Thank you to Mrs. Bruno and Mrs. Broas for their leadership and guidance.

As we look ahead into March, please note that there will be no school for students on Monday, March 31st, as this is a Superintendent’s Conference Day for our faculty. Schools will open on Tuesday, April 1st.

Please be sure to check the Calendar Scroll often for any upcoming school events and testing dates. (Some dates have changed since the school events calendar was shared in August). We do keep the online calendar scroll updated, so thank you for checking it regularly. This month, we are looking forward to the PVES/PTA Musical, the Spring Book Fair, PTA grade level events, and lots of great learning and growing. We thank you for your support and positive communication. You are such a wonderful family community!

Enjoy the week ahead. It looks like we have some warm days on the way!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
