Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you are staying warm and that you enjoyed the sunshine and blue skies today! It looks like there are warmer days ahead, which will allow our students to play outside during recess. Thank you for dressing them warmly and labeling all hats, jackets, and mittens!

Thank you to our K-2 parents who were able to attend our wonderful K-2 ELA (Literacy) Night last week. It was a wonderful parent workshop, and we thank you for your partnership and participation. Our visiting students even went home with free books! A special thank you goes out to our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Robey, and to our teacher expert presenters: Mrs. Burdett, Mrs. Boryk, Mr. Hogan, Mrs. McCarty, and Mrs. Ribeiro. Our faculty did such an outstanding job, and they certainly shared their passion for the teaching of reading and writing!

It’s hard to believe, but this Friday, January 26th, marks the midpoint of the school year! Our third quarter will begin next week, and Report Cards will be made available late in the day on Friday, February 2nd. Report Cards will also be mailed home via U.S. mail. As always, if you have any questions regarding your child’s academic progress, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s). Conferences and phone calls can be set up at arranged times during school day hours.

All fourth-grade families are invited to attend the Fourth Grade Winter Band & Chorus Concert this Thursday at 7:00 PM. Parents should please review the letter previously sent to fourth-grade families from Mrs. Calhoun and Mrs. Bennett for important details about this evening. As always, we are looking forward to a great show!

Enjoy the week ahead. Thank you for your continued support and focus on strong school attendance for your children. Our students continue to amaze us!

Kindergarten Registration appointments are being scheduled! 845-528-8092

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
