Dear PVES Families,
We have had a wonderful week of learning at PVES, and the month of January is going quickly! The end of this month will mark the midpoint of our school year. Report Cards will be available on February 3rd online, and they will be mailed after that date via U.S. mail. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to any of your child’s teachers. All faculty can be reached by email at first initial, last name @pvcsd.org.
We are looking forward to our PVES English Language Arts (ELA) Night on Thursday, February 16th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Please mark your calendars. More information will be coming your way soon on the details of this informational evening. We look forward to sharing the details of our engaging Scholastic Literacy Program, with a strong emphasis on Guided Reading.
The Chinese New Year begins on Sunday, January 22nd. Our Kindergarten classes will be performing for their families in a little Mandarin celebration on Wednesday, February 1st, at 2:00 PM. We thank our Mandarin teachers for their wonderful work with our K-3 students.
Our Character Education and Diversity Committee is now running a Pajama (and book) Drive to help those in need. (Please see Weekly Notices). Thank you so much for your generosity!
We are all looking forward to the Fourth Grade Winter Concert on Thursday, January 26th. The students will perform for the classes in grades 1 through 3 during the day, and the evening performance will begin at 7:00 in the Auditorium for families. Our student musicians and singers always make us so proud.
Thank you for making strong attendance a priority when speaking with your children. At PVES, we take pride in our students being in school and on time every day, to support great learning and progress in the classroom. Of course, sickness can happen, and we hope everyone stays healthy through the winter months, but we thank you for supporting good attendance and punctuality with your growing children.
Have a great week ahead. Thank you for your ongoing partnership!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
