Dear PVES Families,
Happy New Year! I hope that you have enjoyed a happy and healthy holiday season, and that the magic of the season has been enjoyed by you and your little ones. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! We are looking forward to seeing our students on this Thursday, January 2nd. It will be nice to get back into our learning routines after a nice long break. We have missed the children, and we are ready to get the new year off to a great start!
PVES has been a very festive place over the last few weeks. Our celebrations ended with a whole-school Holiday Sing Along on Friday before break, complete with a band (composed of our very musical staff members), teacher skits, and lots of singing with the children. Our PVES teachers and staff make everything so special for our students, complete with surprises, humor, and lots of positive energy. I thank all our staff and students for making our learning community so creative and engaging. We enjoy celebrating together and learning together!
I am extremely proud and honored to share that in the latest rankings by the U.S. News and World Report, the Putnam Valley Elementary School was once again ranked in the top 3% of elementary schools in New York State. This high overall score is based on school data and resources, academic/assessment proficiency performance, and other district factors such as teacher/student ratios and the ability to educate all students. We take great pride in the work that we do at PVES, and we are so thankful for the community support that helps to make this recognition possible!
I want to wish you all good things in the New Year! May 2025 bring you much health and happiness. Let’s keep working together to support your children’s successes in all areas. We know they will continue to shine!
Let’s enjoy the short school week ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
