Dear PVES Families,
I hope you have all had a happy and healthy month of February. We were all happy to return from Winter Break this week, and we have had a full five days! It was a quick month of February, even with the leap year, and we look forward to “Marching into more learning” next week!
As the weather continue to surprise us, it is extremely important to maintain healthy habits to avoid germs. As you know, across the world we are taking extra precautions with handwashing and not sharing cups, towels, straws, scarves, etc. A child must be fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school after being ill. At PVES, our student attendance is much stronger than it was a few weeks ago, and we want to keep it that way. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Our nurse, Kathy Hill, can be reached at khill@pvcsd.org.
Our youngest classes celebrated our 100th Day of School this week, as they completed exciting counting, building, cooking, literature, and art activities in their classrooms! We love to support the learning of math concepts through engaging activities that connect to the real world. I
thank our teachers for all of their wonderful ideas, and for making math come to life in the classrooms!
Congratulations to Mr. Sperling’s fourth grade class on presenting such an outstanding Shadow Play today to two audiences, and tonight again for families and friends at 6:30 PM! The show is called “Hogwarts, a History: Harry Potter Shadow Plays,” and it is sure to be enjoyed by all. Congratulations to the students on a job well done, and congratulations to Mr. Sperling on the production of his final Shadow Play before his retirement at the end of this year. History has been made!
As we look ahead into March, please be reminded that there will be no school for students on Friday, March 13th, as this is a Superintendent’s Conference Day scheduled for staff meetings and workshops.
The PTA will be hosting Pocketbook Bingo this weekend, and the PTA ES Seuss Spectacular will take place next Friday, March 6th, at 6:30 PM. Please check the PTA website for more information!
Enjoy the weekend ahead…and the 29th day of February! Make it a special one!
Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
