Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you are all enjoying this warm Super Bowl Weekend, and that your children enjoyed our PVES Sports Jersey Day on Friday! This week, all staff and students are invited to wear red, pink, or white on Wednesday, Valentine’s Day! Our Kindergarten students will be also wearing red on Tuesday for their special show for the Lunar New Year! Our younger classes will also be celebrating the 100th Day of School this week! All that, and a possible snowstorm too! It looks to be a busy one!

All families should now have received hard copies of our mid-year Report Cards in the mail by now. (If you did not receive one for your child, please contact the school). As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher(s). Thank you to so many of you for your praise and positive comments regarding our staff and our school efforts! We truly appreciate your support and partnership. It makes all the difference!

Schools will be closed next week, February 19th through 23rd, for Winter Break. Schools will also be closed on Wednesday, March 13th, for students, as this is a Superintendent’s Conference Day.

Congratulations to Mr. Alex Gofman, our PVES Technology expert, and his wife, on the birth of their second son, Milo, who was born on Friday. We wish the Gofman family the very best at this special time, and we know that big brother Yuri is very excited about the new arrival!

Please encourage your friends and neighbors who have children who will be 5 years old by December 1st to please call the school at 845-528-8092. We are currently making Kindergarten registration appointments, and we look forward to our Kindergarten Screening days in the spring.

Enjoy the big game tonight and stay safe in the snowy days ahead. Happy Valentine’s Day. Thank you for sharing your little sweethearts with us every day!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
