Dear PVES Families,
We have a 3-day weekend, as Passover is celebrated, and we begin the fourth-quarter of the school year. Brief 3rd Quarter Progress Reports will be mailed out at the end of the week via U.S. mail. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teachers. This is an important time of year for communication, as we head toward a busy and productive final term of the school year.
Our ENL Night will take place this Thursday, April 25th, at 6:30 PM. We have invited our English as a New Language families (English language learners), but we open this invitation to all of our bilingual PVES families who would like to attend. Please RSVP before Thursday to mpodesta@pvcsd.org.
Congratulations to our third-grade students who performed so beautifully in the Recorder Concerts this past week. Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun for her hard work with these young musicians. We look forward to our Fourth Grade Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 22nd.
Please be sure to mark your calendars for our District Budget Vote Day on Tuesday, May 21st. Voting will take place from 6 AM to 9 PM in our Elementary Cafeteria. We would love to see more elementary parents participate in the voting process for our district budget and Board of Education members. Thank you for voting on this day!
Looking ahead, please remember that our elementary students (only) will have a half-day of school (12:00 dismissal) on Thursday, May 23rd. All PVCSD schools will then be closed from Friday, May 24th, through Tuesday, May 28th. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, May 29th. Schools will also be closed on Wednesday, June 19th, in honor of Juneteenth. Our elementary students will have a half-day of school on both Tuesday, June 25th, and Wednesday, June 26th, the final day of the school year.
After a long winter, we have many classrooms that are short on tissues for our students. If you are able to send in any extra boxes of tissues to your child’s classroom, we would appreciate it! Please also be sure to check our Lost & Found collection in the main lobby. We will be donating remaining items soon.
Our students have been learning more details and facts about the significance of Earth Day (Monday, April 22nd). Thank you for modeling the importance of recycling, conservation, sustainability, and keeping our Earth clean on all days.
Enjoy the week ahead. Thank you for working so closely with us!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
