Dear PVES Families,
I hope that the Thanksgiving holiday was a happy and healthy one for all of you. We certainly have so much for which to be thankful: happy and healthy children, caring teachers, and a wonderfully supportive community. I am thankful to all of you for your ongoing support and cooperation as we work through these challenging times. I continue to be amazed at how much our school has been able to accomplish, even throughout the pandemic. Our students are certainly fortunate, and they continue to learn and thrive.
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate! We wish you a wonderful holiday season. We are heading into our busy month of December, and we look forward to our elementary school festivities! Please mark your calendar for the PTA Winter Wonderland, which will take place on Saturday, December 11th, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on our PVES campus. This is a brand-new event for our learning community, and it looks to be very special. Thank you to our PTA for making this possible for all.
All 3rd and 4th grade students should review the PVES Musical notices in the Weekly Attachments. We are looking forward to an in-person musical this year, and we encourage your participation. Thank you to Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Calhoun for their work with our performers!
I am hoping that our building continues to stay healthy and safe from illness! Please be reminded that if your child must quarantine due to reasons outside of school, he or she may return to school only after you submit their official “Release from Quarantine” notices from the Department of Health. If you have any questions, please email me directly at mpodesta@pvcsd.org. Thank you for your cooperation.
The next four weeks of school will be busy and festive, but this should be a time of great learning and progress for your children. Please continue to maintain the structures of homework routines, daily reading, and set bedtimes throughout these busy weeks. We appreciate how our parents work so hard to send our PVES students to school organized and ready to learn each and every day. Let’s keep up the great work!
Let’s have a strong and positive start to December. Please continue to communicate regularly with your child’s teachers regarding any concerns or questions you may have. Please also remember that as the weather gets colder, children should be dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Labeling jackets, hats, and mittens is very helpful to all!
Our school-wide Pajama Day will be held on Friday, December 17th, with sneakers, not slippers. Our Festive Wear Day will be held on Thursday, December 23rd. We are looking forward to a wonderful month ahead, and the children certainly bring joy to every day.
Thank you for all you do. Wishing you and your families the very best!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
