Dear PVES Families,
We have had a wonderfully successful opening to the school year at the elementary school, and we look forward to our 4-day week ahead. Please be reminded that there will be no school on this Thursday, September 16th, in honor of Yom Kippur. Schools will reopen on Friday, September 17th.
Our PTA/PVES Picnic will take place on our back playground lawn at 5:00 on Friday, weather permitting. Please bring your picnic dinner and dessert for your family, lawn chairs or blankets, and enjoy the time together. Please be sure to supervise your own children throughout the picnic, as this is not a drop-off event. We look forward to a wonderful time with the famous Bubble Bus!
Our Back-to-School Nights will be held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. We recommend that one parent/guardian for each child attend the event, but two are certainly allowed if that works for your family. Parents/Guardians ONLY of students in Grades 3 and 4 are invited to attend the event on Monday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Parents/Guardians ONLY of students in Grades 1 and 2 are invited to attend the event on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. The evenings will begin at 6:30 in the Cafeteria (across from the big gym) where you are welcome to check in with our Specials Teachers and Professional Support Staff. We will then all gather briefly in the Auditorium at 7:00 with distanced seating for a brief Welcome and Introduction time. Parents will then move to their children’s classrooms to hear important curriculum and classroom information at 7:15. The evening will end at 8:00 PM, and masks are required for everyone in attendance. We are looking forward to welcoming you in person! Students should not attend these Back-to-School Night events. You will be receiving our updated information for our November Parent/Teacher Conference Schedules this week from your child’s classroom teacher. As always, if you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teachers as needed, either by phone or email. All faculty members can be reached via email by first intial,last name @pvcsd.org.
