Dear PVES Families,
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful springtime! Our students are flourishing during this busy month, and we continue to be amazed by their growth and excitement of learning. Thank you to all who were able to attend our Open House Nights this week! Our hallways and classrooms were filled with happy children and parents, and it was so nice to watch our students share their school with all of you. Thank you for your involvement in their learning world!
Congratulations to our fourth-grade teachers and students, and all of our support staff and volunteers, who helped to make the Revolutionary War Reenactment such a fabulous day of learning for all! History truly came to life at our school yesterday, and the authentic stations, food, and music made it a wonderful day for all!
Thank you to our PTA for providing us with our Spring Scholastic Book Fair this week, and thank you also to all of the parents for supporting it! We also want to thank the PTA for providing the staff with a delicious Teacher Appreciation Lunch this week! We have been celebrating our Teacher Appreciation and Nurse Appreciation Days, and we are so thankful for our outstanding staff at PVES. It truly is an amazing place to work and learn.
Congratulations to Mrs. Erinn Scolpini, our second-grade teacher, who gave birth to her first baby this week, a bouncing baby boy, named Charlie Lawrence. We are all so happy for her, and we can’t wait to meet little Charlie. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Scolpini all the very best with their handsome son!
We are all looking forward to the PTA Spelling Bee, which will take place on Monday, May 13th, at 7 PM, in our ES Auditorium. Congratulations to all of the participants, and good luck to all of the finalists. We look forward to a great event!
Please remember that our PVCSD Budget Vote will take place at the elementary school on Tuesday, May 21st, from 6 AM to 9 PM. Voter registration will take place after school at the ES on this Monday, May 13th, from 4 PM to 7:30 PM. Our kitchen will be serving school lunches on Voting Day, and children will eat in their classrooms.
At this week’s Board of Education Meeting, Ms. Jenette Mistretta, my Assistant Principal, was appointed as our district’s new Director of Curriculum and Instruction. I would like to congratulate my wonderful colleague on this news. Jenette is a fabulous leader and educator, and although I will miss her greatly at the elementary school, I look forward to working closely with her in her new role. We will be conducting an Assistant Principal search in the near future, and I am confident of our continued success and progress. We will keep you posted as we move forward.
