Thank you so much to all of our families who were able to attend our PVES/PTA Picnic last week! Our new Playground was a big hit, and we thank our PTA for providing the amazing Bubble Bus and the Icy Truck! We had perfect weather for our school community gathering, and a great time was had by all. Thank you!
We have a busy four-day week ahead! Our Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department will be providing Fire Safety lessons to all of our classes on this Thursday, October 15th. Our students will be able to tour our visiting fire trucks and learn important details regarding fire safety. Thank you so much to our local fire department for providing these lessons for our school each year. We value our community partnerships!
Our annual First Responder Day is quickly approaching. If you or your friends or neighbors are first responders and would like to visit a class at our school on Wednesday morning, October 28th, we would love to welcome you! Please email me at mpodesta@pvcsd.org to let me know if you can visit from about 9:00 to 10:00 AM on that day. Our students love to learn about the important work that you do.
All staff and students are welcome to wear the color orange on Unity Day, October 21st. On this day, we celebrate kindness, acceptance, and inclusion, as we support our Bully Prevention lessons. Our Character Education theme focuses on friendship and respect, with all of our classes reading a storybook based on this theme.
All parents/guardians are now receiving Parent/Teacher Conference invitations for our in-person conferences that are being scheduled for November 10th and November 18th. (Elementary students will have a 12:00 Dismissal on Tuesday, November 10th). You will receive an email invitation from your child’s teacher(s), but you can reach out to all our professional support staff members to set up conferences as well. Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held at PVES from November 16th through the morning of November 20th. The Book Fair will be open after school hours on Wednesday, November 18th, during our Parent/Teacher conference hours. All classes will visit the Book Fair, and our PTA will be sending out more information about parent volunteers and e-wallet set-up.
