Happy Mother’s Day to all! I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day, and that you know how special you are. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership!
We have some very busy days ahead, and we want you all to know what is happening at PVES! This week, our Kindergarten Screening appointments begin. If you have a child who will be 5 years old by December 1st, please be sure to call our main office at 845-528-8092 if you do not yet have an appointment scheduled. We look forward to meeting our new class of students and their parents!
Our District Budget Vote will be taking place on Tuesday, May 19th, from 6 AM to 9 PM in our PVES Cafeteria. Please be sure you are registered to vote! Our PVES students will have the opportunity to participate in the PVES Student Vote on May 19th as well! Our elementary students will vote with their parents, and they will be choosing a middle name for our facility dog, Mason! You may accompany your child to vote during the school day, or before or after school hours as well. Thank you so much for helping your children learn about the power of the individual ballot.
Please be reminded that our elementary students (only) will have a half-day (12:00 PM) dismissal on Friday, May 22nd. This was noted in your Main Events calendar page that was emailed to you in August. Please mark your calendars for this half-day dismissal. Schools will also be closed on Monday, May 25th in honor of Memorial Day. Looking ahead to June, schools will be closed on Friday, June 19th for the Juneteenth holiday.
All first and second grade families are invited to attend the Chorus Concerts at PVES on Tuesday, May 19th. The First Grade Chorus Concert will take place at 10 AM. The Second Grade Chorus Concert will take place at 1:10 PM. More information on parking and arrival times will be sent to these grade level families this week.
Are you planning to attend our Elementary School Planting Party? Please join us between 4:00 and 5:30 PM on the elementary campus on Tuesday, May 19th. We will enjoy music, snacks, and lots of gardening to make our campus even more beautiful! This was such a joyful community day last year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone again. Thank you so much for your contributions and time!
We would also like to thank our amazing PTA for all they did for us at PVES for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week! The travel theme, food, and treats were so creative and delicious, and we feel so lucky to have such wonderful community partners in education! We didn’t want the week to end!
Congratulations to our third and fourth grade students who completed their NYS Math tests this past week. We are always so proud of the academic achievements of our students, and I thank the entire faculty for the amazing job they do providing such a strong learning foundation at PVES. Our students are in very good hands!
