Dear PVES Families,
Happy New Year! I hope that you have all been enjoying the holiday break, and that you are feeling rested and motivated as we begin 2026. Best wishes are being sent your way for a fabulous new year. We are so excited to see your children on Monday!
This winter has certainly been a cold and snowy one so far! We began our holiday break with a necessary snow day on December 23rd, and so our school break started a day early. Unfortunately, our Festive Wear Day and Holiday Sing Along will need to be rescheduled (and revised) for later in the year. We look forward to some springtime fun!
We are quickly approaching the midpoint of the school year. Mid-year Report Cards will be available online (and in the mail) by early February. Throughout this month, our teachers will be teaching new concepts while assessing our students in all academic areas. As always, if you have any questions about your child’s academic progress, please contact us directly.
Our students will practice a mandatory Lockdown Drill this week, with local state police observing our process. As always, these drills are handled in efficient and calm, reassuring ways, and we are always so proud of our students’ cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Schools will be closed on Monday, January 19th, for Martin Luther King Day. Our February break will take place from Monday, February 16th, through Friday, February 20th.
Please always be sure to check our Weekly Notices for school and PTA information. PVES is a busy place all year, and we want you to stay informed!
We look forward to a fresh and healthy return to school on Monday! Please speak positively with your children about starting 2026 off in an organized and motivated way. We are so proud of your children, and we look forward to working with them in the months ahead!
Enjoy the weekend. Let’s get this new year started!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
