Dear PVES Families,
Welcome to the festive month of December this week! I hope that you all enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday break, and that you were able to make special memories with your young children. We are looking forward to seeing all of them tomorrow and getting the new month started, with lots of learning ahead!
Just a reminder that the first PVES Holiday Bazaar is quickly approaching! Our Holiday Drive Collection is underway, and we are ready for more donations! In the true spirit of the holiday season, we are collecting new or gently used toys, household items and decor, jackets, hats, gloves, and boots, and new or barely used clothing. These items will help us to create our first-ever Holiday Bazaar on December 13th from 10:00 to 12:00, where our students and families can come shopping for free! (Be sure to mark your calendars!) The holidays will be happy for all! Thank you for gathering any items you are willing to donate. (We are not collecting books or large bags of used clothing, but new clothing items and gently used coats, hats and boots will be appreciated). All items may be dropped off in our main office up through December 10th. Thank you for your contributions!
As the winter season approaches, please be sure that you have a plan in place for childcare in the case of school closings, early dismissals, and delayed school openings. Our winter weather can be a bit unpredictable, and safety is our top concern. Thank you for making these back-up plans ahead of time.
We have some special December days ahead on our PVES calendar. This Friday, the first Friday in December, will be PV Pride Day, and all are welcome to wear Blue & White. Friday, December 19th, will be our Whole School Pajama Day! This will mark the official start of the Winter Season (12/21), with a cozy and warm day at school. (No slippers please). We will have our “Festive Wear Day” for the holidays on Tuesday, December 23rd. Staff and students are welcome to wear holiday colors, Santa hats, jingle bells, etc. Schools will be closed for the holiday break from Thursday, December 24th through Friday, January 2nd. Schools will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026!
We look forward to a great week ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support and positive communication.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
