Dear PVES Families,
Welcome to the beautiful (and rainy?) month of May! Our final quarter of the school year is in full swing, and our calendar is packed! The elementary students continue to make us so proud, and we look forward to sharing many festivities with them in the weeks ahead!
Happy Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week to our incredible PVES faculty! We are so fortunate at PVES to have such caring, devoted teachers and support staff. Thank you to all of you who are volunteering your time and energy this week to the PTA to help celebrate our elementary staff. We are so thankful for our caring community.
This Wednesday, May 7th, is School Nurse’s Day. I want to give a big thanks to Mrs. Kathy Hill and Mr. Frank Murphy for the outstanding work they do every day at PVES. We are so lucky to have them caring for us and keeping us safe at school. We look forward to celebrating them as well!
Next week, we will be holding our Kindergarten Screening Days for our incoming Kindergarten class. As a reminder, please share with your friends and neighbors that if they have a child who will be 5 years old by 12/1/25, they can call our school at (845) 528-8092 to register for Kindergarten. If a family has a child who will be 4 years old by 12/1/25, they may be interested in the Universal Pre-K that is being offered on our elementary campus beginning next year. Please see the district information that was shared regarding the application and lottery process for this wonderful new program in our community.
We are so excited about our upcoming PVES Planting Day on Tuesday, May 20th! This family event will take place from 4:30 to 6:00 PM on that day, and we welcome you all to join us in the fun. Please bring your plants and gardening tools, and get ready to work with friends to make our elementary campus even more beautiful. Thank you so much for your participation!
Please be sure to mark your calendars to vote on our School Budget and Capital Facilities Projects on Tuesday, May 20th at PVES. Voting will take place between 6 AM and 9 PM in our PVES cafeteria. Every vote counts!
Our Fourth Grade Spring Concert will take place on Thursday, May 29th at 7:00 PM. We look forward to welcoming our fourth-grade families and friends to this special event. Our students always make us so proud.
Have a great week ahead. If you have any questions about the Third Quarter Progress Reports that were mailed this week, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s). This communication is so important.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
