Dear PVES Families,
I hope you are enjoying the weekend after all the rain and snow that finally arrived. It’s that time of year when the weather can suddenly interrupt our school day hours. Please be sure to have back-up childcare plans for delayed openings, early dismissals, and cancelled (snow) days. Safety is our top concern, and we know our local roads can become icy very quickly.
Our elementary students have a full day of school tomorrow (Monday) and a half-day of school on this Tuesday (November 26th) with a 12:00 dismissal. Please be sure to be at your child’s bus stop shortly after that time. All PV schools will be closed from Wednesday, November 27th, through Friday, November 29th, for Thanksgiving break. Schools will reopen on Monday, December 2nd.
Please always check our Weekly Notices for new club opportunities, informational flyers, and upcoming events.
Thank you so much for the wonderful and generous contributions to our Thanksgiving Food Drive! A large collection of food was donated to a local food pantry on Friday, and many families will be enjoying good meals because of your help. We are so grateful. In the coming weeks, we will let you know about a Holiday Gift Drive organized through our Character Education initiatives. Our students learn so much through helping others!
Our PTA volunteers organized and ran a very busy Book Fair last week! Thank you to all who helped to make this possible. Our students were busy browsing and shopping. Happy reading to all!
Thank you also to our PTA volunteers who assisted with our PVES Picture Re-take Day this past week. We have so many wonderful volunteers in our community, and we appreciate you!
Please be sure to have your children check our Lost & Found Collection in the main lobby. All clothing items should be labeled on the inside tags so that misplaced items can be quickly returned to their owners. All clothing items not picked up by the end of December will be donated to those in need.
Welcome to Miss Summer Breidenbach, Physical Education teacher, who is covering a short-term leave for Mr. Heitman. Miss Breidenbach is a certified P.E. teacher who will be working very closely with Mrs. Aurigemma over the next couple of months. The students love her already!
I wish you and your families a happy and delicious Thanksgiving holiday. We are so grateful at PVES for our amazing students and their supportive, caring families. Thank you today and every day.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
