I hope you are all enjoying this perfect spring weather with your children. What a wonderful time to get outside for hikes and play. Enjoy the sunshine and the together time!
Our third-grade families are invited to the Recorder Concert on this Wednesday, May 10th. Please be sure to carefully check the schedule for the evening, as we have the grade level divided into two separate concerts. We are looking forward to two wonderful musical performances.
Congratulations to our third and fourth-grade students who completed their NYS Math tests this past week. The students were so prepared for these state examinations, and they certainly worked hard and with great focus. Thank you to our amazing teachers who put so much effort into rigorous and engaging daily lessons.
We had a wonderful Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week this past week. Our PTA is so creative and thoughtful, and we thank them for their amazing efforts! Please consider volunteering for the PTA or the PVEF (Putnam Valley Educational Foundation). These two organizations do so much for our school, and we need you!
All students are being reminded to sit calmly and safely on school buses. We encourage all our elementary students to wear their seatbelts, and it is very important that students sit safely on bus rides, without standing up or moving around. We will continue to discuss this important matter with our students, and we thank you for doing the same.
Please remember to vote in the School Budget/Election Vote on Tuesday, May 16th at PVES. Voting will take place from 6 AM to 9 PM in the PVES cafeteria. It is always important that the elementary parent voices are heard. Children will still be able to purchase lunch on this day.
We are looking forward to meeting our newest learners this week on our Kindergarten Screening days. Please remind your neighbors and PV friends to call the school if they have a child who will be turning 5 years old by December 1st. We can’t wait to welcome the class of 2036!
I want to wish Ms. Leslie Castellanos and her husband Bill a warm congratulations on the birth of their first baby, a little girl, Sophia, who was born on April 29th. Just in time for Mother’s Day! We wish this beautiful family the very best! We are so fortunate to have Miss Cierra Espineira covering this third-grade class for the remainder of the year. Welcome, Miss Espineira!
And Happy Mother’s Day next week to all of our PVES moms! There are no words to describe the importance of a mother’s love and devotion to a child. We wish you a beautiful day, and may you always know what you mean to your precious children.
