Putnam Valley Elementary School

Dear PVES Families,

Happy New Year! We were so happy to welcome back our wonderful students this week, and we are so excited to begin 2020 with a renewed energy, a strong focus on growth and learning, and many great moments ahead. I hope that you have all enjoyed a peaceful and happy holiday season. We look forward to a full week of school next week, and hopefully, the weather will cooperate.

Please be sure to get your tickets to the PV PTA West Point Hockey Night! This exciting Army vs. Air Force game will take place next Friday, January 10th, at 7:05 PM. We look forward to seeing many of our families up at the West Point rink, dressed in blue and white with PV Pride!

As we work through the month of January, our teachers will be teaching and assessing the students as they approach the end of the second quarter, or the midpoint of the school year. Report Cards will go out at the end of January, and they will be available both online and via U.S. mail. The school year is certainly moving quickly!

Schools will be closed on Monday, January 20th, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 21st.

Please see the weekly notices. Thank you for encouraging your children to become involved in their school community, to set wonderful goals for the new year, and to always stretch and strengthen good learning habits and positive motivation. This is a great time to re-start!

Enjoy the weekend ahead. I wish you the very best in the new year!

Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
