At Putnam Valley Middle School, today’s support of Day of Silence is being led by the VOICES club. The Day of Silence is a student-led national event where people take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing of LGBTQ people at school. Some students do not feel comfortable being themselves because they are afraid of being made fun of or harassed. On this Day of Silence, think about the voices you are not hearing. Let’s try and find ways to respect and celebrate differences so everyone can feel free to be who they are.
