Dear Parents and Guardians,

Three weeks of school is officially behind us and we are slowly moving into some new routines under COVID regulations. The weather has been beautiful and provided teachers and students with many opportunities to go outside for classes and for lunch, giving everyone some fresh air and a break from masks.  Please reinforce the importance of wearing masks when indoors.  Our goal is to keep our students in the building and get back to 100% in-person attendance.  Keeping masks on and washing hands are the best way we can prevent the outbreak and spread of sickness and stay in school.

We will hold our annual Back to School Night on Thursday, October 1st beginning at 6 p.m. with a welcome message from Mr. Mello and myself. Due to COVID restrictions, our traditional model of welcoming parents into the building will be different. This year, the entire night will be held virtually with teachers holding their meetings/presentations virtually using Google Meet. We will be following a Day 1A, period 9 schedule to ensure parents are able to connect with every teacher in their child’s schedule. Included in this email are a list of all teachers and Google Meet links. On Back To School Night, follow your child’s schedule and click on the link next to the teacher’s name to participate in a virtual meeting of the class. The teachers will use this time to review expectations for the class as well as a brief overview of the content. If you have specific questions about your child, you can schedule an individual meeting with the teacher to discuss your concerns. Our Counseling staff will also be available on Back to School Night and you are encouraged to click on their links during academic study time or a free period.

As a reminder, when students are working from home they are expected to be on camera and be situated in an appropriate location for school. Also, during the day students who are not scheduled to be in school for classes are not allowed to come onto campus or the parking lot during lunchtime.  We understand that students miss being with each other, but we need to adhere to safety guidelines to ensure that our campus is secure for all students and staff. Additionally, students are not allowed to bring in or drop off food during lunchtime due to our contractual obligations with our food service company.

Flu shots for those students who handed in their forms will be given on Wednesday, September 30th. The schedule is:

We know that the new COVID procedures have been confusing for some families, and we would like to thank all parents for their patience, flexibility, and cooperation during this time.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dr. Sandra Intrieri
Mr. Matt Mello
