Dear Parents and Students,

Senior Week is almost here! I am delighted that June is around the corner and we can finally celebrate our Class of 2020 with plenty of pomp and circumstance! This year has been very disappointing for our seniors and we are hopeful that the Senior Week activities will bring some much needed joy as we celebrate all of our graduates’ wonderful contributions to Putnam Valley High School over the last four years.

The overall plan for our Senior Week and blended graduation ceremonies are outlined below.

Tuesday, June 9th: Last day for senior online classes.

Wednesday, June 10th:

Wednesday, June 10th: Senior Awards LIVE 7pm

Thursday, June 11th: Senior Farewell Procession:  Begins at Town Park 10am

Students must remain in vehicles

Friday, June 12th: Seniorpalooza!  (Begins at 9am- group sign ups through Sign Up Genius.)

Students must remain in vehicles

Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th: Cap Decoration

Monday, June 15th: Recording of Graduation Speeches (Seniorpalooza rain date)

Graduation Video: In addition to the in-person experiences outlined above, a full graduation video with a link will be shared with all graduates and members of our school community. The graduation video will include all speeches, the names of graduates, and other highlights from our graduates time at PVHS. I will share the specific “release date” of the video as the date gets closer.

*If a traditional graduation ceremony is allowed under the current guidelines and approved by the Board of Health, the dates of Commencement will be Thursday, June 18th and June 19th at 7pm. The class will be divided in two sections with a full ceremony on the PVHS turf field.

Additional information will be sent home later this week, i.e. Sign Up Genius links, Graduation time slots, tickets, parking information etc.

I want to thank everyone for their patience as we put these plans together during this quarantine. I would especially like to thank the Class of 2020 Advisors, Mrs. Getman and Ms. Rossano for all of their dedication to the Class of 2020! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again in the coming weeks!

Sincerely,

Sandra Intrieri
