Dear Putnam Valley High School Families,

We’ve reached the midpoint of the third quarter, and with the warmer weather just around the corner, spring is truly in the air! We want to keep you informed about important upcoming events and reminders.

Key Dates & Information:

Guidance Department Updates:

Academic & Attendance Reminders:

After School

Senior Parking Updates:

Putnam Valley is a closed campus.  Students are not allowed to leave and return unless a parent signs them out, and the absence is for an appointment or other family matter.

Only seniors have the privilege of driving to school. Seniors must park in their assigned spots. We don’t allow sophomores or juniors to drive and/or park on campus during the school day. However, they can return by car after 2:40.

Creating a Conducive Learning Environment:

We strive to maintain an educational environment that supports all students’ learning. Simple things like appropriate attire can significantly impact the school atmosphere. Please talk with your child about the importance of wearing school-appropriate clothing and footwear and distinguishing between attire suitable for home and school.  This creates a mindset that prepares students for learning.

Navigating the Digital World:

Many students struggle with the freedoms and pressures associated with cell phones and social media. These digital platforms can introduce stressors that teenagers are often ill-equipped to handle. Putnam Valley High School is committed to partnering with you and your child to navigate these challenges.

If you have concerns about your child’s digital well-being, please contact our Student Support Suite. Mrs. Frye, Mrs. Cohen, and Mrs. Cancellaro are available to provide support both within and outside of school.

We appreciate your continued partnership in ensuring a successful and supportive learning environment for all our students.

Sincerely,

Matt Mello
Principal
