Dear PVES Families,
We have successfully completed our first full 5-day week of the school year, and the beautiful weekend is here! We are so happy to report that your children are becoming settled into the new school year, and great learning is taking place. I thank our entire faculty for the hard work they are doing every day to make your children feel comfortable and safe in their engaging learning environment. It is sure to be a great year ahead!
I am very happy to announce that at this week’s Board of Education meeting, Mrs. Jennifer Picco was appointed as our new Elementary Assistant Principal. Mrs. Picco comes to us with a great amount of elementary curriculum knowledge, teaching experience, and several areas of expertise and specialty in elementary education. We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Picco here at the end of October.
Thank you to all families who were able to attend our PVES/PTA Picnic last week. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and to watch the children enjoy the wonderful Bubble Bus! Thank you to the PTA for arranging this special addition to our backyard picnic. It made for great fun and lots of laughs.
Our School Picture Day is quickly approaching! Our PVES school pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 29th, according to our class schedules. Only individual pictures will be taken at this time, but we hope to take whole-group class photos in the spring. Yearbook order information will be coming to you at a later date.
Please be reminded that schools will be closed on Monday, October 11th, for the Columbus Day. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, October 12th.
Thank you again for all your incredible support and kind words as we navigate through these challenging times. We know that things are not quite “back to normal” just yet, but we are all working together to stay healthy, positive, and to provide our students with optimal learning opportunities. Thank you for your partnership and positive communication.
Enjoy the gorgeous fall weather and all of those apples and pumpkins.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
