Dear PVES,

As we head into the last week of October, we continue to be amazed at the wonderful teaching and learning that is going on in our school each and every day.  Thank you again to our supportive parents, our dedicated faculty, and to our incredible PVES students who are making our school year so successful.  We are off to such a great start to this school year!

Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, we will not be celebrating Halloween at PVES in our traditional way this year. We do not want to take risks with costume help, parading, food treats, and other festivities that might not go along with school social distancing guidelines that are in place at this time. However, we DO still plan to have student-centered fun in the Halloween theme!

For this year, on Friday, October 30th, we ask that all PVES staff and students follow these guidelines to make our elementary school Halloween celebrations both safe and festive for our students.

– All students and staff are invited to wear clothes that are BLACK, ORANGE, or PURPLE in color.

– No costumes are allowed, but headbands, hats, necklaces, Halloween sweatshirts, t-shirts are fine!

– No food treats can be sent in from home or distributed in the classroom (including wrapped candy).

– Goodie bags that are distributed to students (including pencils, stickers, etc.) must sit untouched in the classroom for 3 days before being handed out to in-school and remote students.

– All classroom teachers will be given a set of white paper masks for in-school and remote students to decorate in class with crayons, colored pencils, Halloween stickers, etc.  Students may wear these decorated masks throughout the day on October 30th.

– We hope to get back to our traditional parade by next year!

We thank you all for your cooperation with our classroom festivities for this year, and we hope you have a safe and happy Halloween at home. Please remember that the PVEF Trunk or Treat is taking place on Saturday, October 31st, at 11:00 AM in the PVMS parking lot.

The busy month of November will be here soon, and our 1st Quarter Parent/Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching.  Brief Narrative Progress Reports will be distributed with these parent meetings.  Schools will be closed for elementary students on Friday, November 13th for virtual parent conferences, and schools will dismiss at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 19th for evening virtual conferences.  Special Area Teachers will be available during both the afternoon and the evening of Thursday, November 19th for virtual conferences (and on November 13th as well). If you would like to set up a Special Area Teacher conference, please email the teachers at these addresses below:
