Dear PVES Families,

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the amazing Willy Wonka musical that was performed this past week by our talented 3rd and 4th graders. The students did an outstanding job on stage, and our live audience was thrilled! Thank you so much to our PTA Arts in Education and to Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Calhoun, and to Mrs. Bennett for all the hard work that went into this fabulous show. The students made us so proud!

Please be reminded that our District Budget Vote will be held at Putnam Valley Elementary School on Tuesday, May 17th! Our district is providing informational sessions on the budget information, and you are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you have any specific questions regarding budget details connected to the elementary school, please reach out to me at your convenience.

Our 3rd Quarter Progress Reports will now be mailed during the week following spring break, the week of April 18th. As always, if you would like to set up an in-person or virtual conference with any of your child’s teachers, please contact them. All staff emails are first initial, last name@pvcsd.org. Our third and fourth graders will be taking their NYS ELA Exams on this Wednesday and Thursday. They are very well prepared.

Schools will be closed for spring break from April 11th through April 15th. Schools will reopen on Monday, April 18th.

Our School Picture Retakes will be taken on Thursday, April 7th. Our PTA Spring Book Fair will be held on from Monday, April 4th, through Friday morning, April 8th. Your child’s classroom teacher will let you know this week which day your child’s class will be visiting the Book Fair between 4/4 and 4/8.

Our third and fourth grade students are busy preparing for the Gym Show which will be held on Tuesday, May 10th. Our third graders are also preparing for their Recorder Concert (May 5th), and our fourth graders will perform their Spring Concert (June 1st). We are so happy to be welcoming parents back into the building for these wonderful events, along with many classroom sharing activities.

The children are enjoying eating lunch together in the cafeteria, and on all good weather days, they are now playing on all of the recess fields again, including the playground equipment. Spring has sprung, and although the first part of this week will be cold, warmer days are coming.

Enjoy this final week of March. Let’s have a strong two weeks of learning before our spring break.

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
