Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you enjoyed the wonderful December weekend, and that you and your children are ready for a full week ahead! Thank you to our PTA who organized and facilitated such an amazing Winter Wonderland at our school on Saturday. This child-centered holiday event was so inviting and festive, complete with old-fashioned charm. Thank you to all who participated and to all who volunteered or contributed in any way. It was a very happy day, with Santa, Frosty and all!

Our students and staff are invited to dress for our whole-school Pajama Day on this Friday, December 17th! We are also looking forward to our Festive Wear Day on Thursday, December 23rd. Schools will be closed from Friday, December 24th through Sunday, January 2nd. Schools will reopen on Monday, January 3rd, 2022!

We hope that you were able to read the beautiful write-up about the success of our Putnam Valley Elementary School in the recent Putnam County News and Recorder. This impressive school ranking is based on a study done by U.S. News and World Report. It is certainly the collaboration of our school district, faculty and staff, and supportive families that makes this great student progress possible. We are so proud of our young learners! https://www.pcnr.com/articles/putnam-valley-elementary-school-is-one-of-new-york-states-finest-new-ranking-says/

Although the holidays are filled with joy and festivity, we know that this can be a stressful time as well. Please reach out if you feel your child is struggling in any way. We are here to help, with many qualified staff members who can provide support. We do wish you all the very best.

Enjoy the week ahead, and please reach out with any questions or concerns.  Thank you for your ongoing partnership in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
