Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you all enjoyed the beautiful fall weekend. The month of October is flying by, with the leaves falling from the trees in this storm today. Please stay safe. The children stayed inside for recess today due to the wind.

Please check the November calendar carefully, as there are several days where school will not be in session for students. Schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 5th for Superintendent’s Conference Day, and on Friday, November 8th for Parent/Teacher Conferences. (Have you signed up for your fall conference yet?) Schools will also be closed on Monday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day. The Elementary School will dismiss at 12:00 on Thursday, November 14th due to the Parent/Teacher Conferences being held that evening. Thanksgiving Break will begin on Wednesday, November 27th, and will continue through the holiday weekend. Schools will reopen on Monday, December 2nd.

As the weather gets cooler, please be reminded that the students will continue to go outside for recess on most days. Recess lasts for 25 minutes, and this gives the students the chance for fresh air, exercise, and free play. Please be certain that your students have jackets, hats, and mittens if necessary on colder days. It is very helpful to have all clothing items labeled with the child’s name or initials. Thank you for your help with this.

Our PTA Kindergarten Pizza & Pumpkin Night will take place on Friday, October 25th, at 6:30 PM in our ES cafeteria. Please check the PTA website for details. All Kindergarten families are welcome to this great event!

We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Book Fair, during the week of October 28th, and at the Gym Show in November!

Have a great weekend ahead! Thank you for reading with your children every night!

Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
Principal
