Dear PVES Families,

I hope that you are enjoying this beautiful weekend with an extra hour of sleep! The busy month of November is underway, and we look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you have not signed up for our first quarter conferences yet, please be sure to do so this week!

Our Lost & Found Collection is growing in our main lobby. Please be sure to check the tables carefully when you come to school for conferences, the upcoming PTA Book Fair (November 13th – November 17th), and for the November 15th Gym Show! All clothing items and lunch bags & water bottles should be labeled with your child’s name. Items that are not retrieved will be donated to charity at the end of the month.

This week, there will be no school for students on Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th, as our staff will be participating in our Superintendent’s Conference Day. School will also be closed on this Friday, November 10th, in honor of Veterans Day. Our elementary students will also have a half day of school on Tuesday, November 14th, for parent/teacher conferences.

This past week, PVES held a wonderful school-wide Halloween celebration at the end of the day. The students and staff dressed in their costumes and paraded outside the school. There were so many smiles! Thank you for all of your support, and thank you to our amazing faculty members who put so much effort into making this day so special for the children.

Congratulations and best wishes to our third-grade teacher, Ms. Madison Thompson, on her wedding day this past month. We wish Ms. Thompson and her husband a wonderful life together!

Please remember to donate to the Thanksgiving Food Drive this week! Thank you to our Character Education & Diversity Committee for coordinating this important initiative.

Our students will take part in classroom lessons focusing on the significance of Veterans Day. We thank our Veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service.

The end of this coming week marks the completion of the first quarter of the school year. As you meet with your child’s teachers soon, please check in on your child’s academic progress, homework and reading routines, social and behavioral growth, and attendance. We welcome the chance to work closely with you to support our students in all areas.

Have a great week ahead!

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
