Dear PVES Families,
Happy Thanksgiving week to all! This will be a very short week of school for our elementary students, but hopefully with lots of family time and special moments for you and your little ones. All elementary students (only) will have a half-day of school on Tuesday, November 25th, with a 12:00 dismissal. All PV schools will be closed on Wednesday through Friday of this week for the Thanksgiving holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday, December 1st.
Thank you for your contributions to our Holiday Food Drive! We will be collecting non-perishable foods through tomorrow, and all donations will be brought to the local food pantry. Thank you for your generosity!
The first PVES Holiday Bazaar is quickly approaching! We are eager to begin our PVES Holiday Drive tomorrow, Monday, November 24th! In the true spirit of the holiday season, we are collecting new or gently used toys, household items and decor, jackets, hats, gloves, and boots, and new or barely used clothing. These items will help us to create our first-ever Holiday Bazaar on December 13th, where our students and families can come shopping for free! (Be sure to mark your calendars!) The holidays will be happy for all! Thank you for gathering any items you are willing to donate. (We are not collecting books or large bags of used clothing, but new clothing items and gently used coats, hats and boots will be appreciated). All items may be dropped off in our main office between November 24th and December 10th. Thank you for your contributions!
Congratulations to our third and fourth grade student-athletes who performed in the Olympic Gym Show this past week! Our students did such a wonderful job, and they were so prepared for this happy event! Thank you to Mrs. Aurigemma and to Mr. Heitman for their hard work with these performers. We also thank the families for all of your support with the early-morning practices. It was a wonderful show!
Congrats to the PVHS Volleyball team and star swimmer, Elisabeth Knuth. Our elementary students were able to participate in an energetic state send-off for these high school athletes this past Wednesday. We are so proud of our PV Tigers!
Our Book Fair was a huge success this week! We thank our many PTA volunteers who made this event possible, and thank you to our little shoppers who were so excited to begin reading their new books. We look forward to another Scholastic Book Fair in the spring.
Our facility dog, Mason, is now collecting mail from our PVES students in his fancy new mailbox, located in our main lobby. Mason has been able to meet with students in different settings, and he loves hearing our young students read. Thank you again to the PVEF for making it possible for Mason to join our school community. He is so special!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Our Character Education theme this month has focused on “gratitude,” and we have so much for which to be thankful. Enjoy this special time of year. We look forward to a productive and festive month of December.
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
