Dear PVES,
Happy November! We have had a very full week here at the elementary school, and our Halloween festivities were filled with fun and great energy! We thank our District Office neighbors for treating our students and staff to amazing decorations and costume fun on our parade route, and we thank all parents for helping to have your children prepared for the day. We then had a very successful parent conference night last night, and more parent conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 8th, during the day.
The schedule for next week is a busy one! There will be no school for students on Tuesday or Thursday, due to Superintendent’s Conference Day and Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please mark your calendars. The auditions for the 3rd/4th Grade Musical begin on Monday, November 5th after school, and picture re-takes are scheduled for Friday, November 9th, along with the Fourth Grade Group Playground Picture. We look forward to seeing our wonderful students on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week, all being full days of school. Schools will be closed on Monday, November 12th, in honor of Veteran’s Day.
We thank our Character Education and Diversity Committee for our whole-school assembly today, focusing on our celebrated Character Traits (being Kind, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible), along with a focus on the value of empathy. Please take the time to discuss the meaning of empathy with your children, and hopefully, they will have lots to add to the conversation! We want to sincerely thank our PTA for purchasing copies of the book, You, Me, and Empathy, for all of our classes. We truly appreciate your generosity and partnership.
The PTA/PVES Book Fair will be open in our Auditorium from Tuesday, November 13th, to the morning of Friday, November 16th. The Book Fair will also be open before the Gym Show on the evening of Wednesday, November 14th. Thank you for allowing your children to purchase books to read at home, if you would like them to. The new books from Scholastic also make great holiday gifts!
Please remember that the PVCSD Facilities Project Vote will take place on December 4th from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Elementary School. Please view the district website for more information! Thank you!
We hope that you find the fall parent/teacher conferences informative and helpful. If, for some reason, you missed your conference this week, please make an effort to reschedule as soon as possible. We are aiming to meet with 100% of our parents! We appreciate your help in supporting growth and learning each and every day!
