Dear PVES Families,

We have a busy week ahead with Parent/Teacher Conferences, the Gym Show, and the PTA/PVES Book Fair! Please check your calendars carefully, and if you have not scheduled your Parent/Teacher Conferences yet, please do so tonight. All faculty members can be reached at first initial, last name @pvcsd.org. We are aiming to meet with 100% of our students’ parents at this First Quarter point, and we thank you for your participation and cooperation.

Our elementary students (only) will have a half-day of school this Tuesday, November 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM. All other days this week will be full days of school (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). Students should bring a snack to school on Tuesday, as there will be no lunch periods that day.

Good luck to our third and fourth-grade student athletes who are participating in the Gym Show this week! This performance will take place in our big gym at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Thank you to Mrs. Aurigemma and Mr. Heitman for their wonderful efforts with these students.

Our Book Fair begins tomorrow! Thank you to the PTA volunteers who are making this possible. All classes will be visiting the Book Fair at scheduled times this week. You received an email this week sharing payment options for the fair, including setting up an eWallet. (Of course, there is no pressure to make any purchases). We are happy to share that the Book Fair will be open beyond school hours on Wednesday evening from 5:45 to 7:30 PM (before and during the Gym Show), and on Thursday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 PM (during Parent/Teacher Conferences). If you have any questions, please let us know.

When you enter the elementary school for Parent/Teacher Conferences, please be sure to check out the Lost & Found tables in the front lobby. All clothing items not retrieved will be donated to charities at the end of the month.

We would like to welcome our third-grade teacher, Ms. Leslie Castellanos, back to her classroom. Ms. Castellanos returns to PVES after the birth of her daughter, and her students are so excited. We thank Miss Cierra Espineira for the wonderful job she has done with the third-graders in this classroom during the first quarter of this school year.

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will be wrapped up tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for your contributions. Tomorrow also marks World Kindness Day, an international day celebrating kindness and positivity. We have lots of that at PVES!

Have a wonderful week ahead. We look forward to seeing you at conference time!

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
