Dear PVES Families,

Today we honor our Veterans. Thank you to all who have served our country and who are protecting our freedoms and keeping us safe. Our students have been learning about the significance of Veterans Day in their classrooms.

Please be reminded that tomorrow is a half-day of school for our elementary students (only). There will be no lunch served, and dismissal will take place at 12:00. Please be sure to be at your child’s bus stop soon after this time. Our elementary students will also have a half-day of school on Tuesday, November 26th. Thanksgiving break will run from Wednesday, November 27th through Friday, November 29th.

Have you signed up for all your parent/teacher conferences? All Special Area teachers can be contacted via email for scheduling conferences on November 12th (12:50 to 6:00 PM) or after school on November 14th (4:00 to 6:00 PM). If you would like to meet with one of these teachers (Art, Music, Physical Education, Innovation Lab, Band), please email them directly. It would be best to set up an appointment.

Physical Education: Mrs. Aurigemma – aaurigemma@pvcsd.org

Physical Education: Mr. Heitman – fheitman@pvcsd.org

Innovation Lab: Mrs. Bruno – jbruno@pvcsd.org

We are looking forward to the PVES Gym Show this week! All families are invited to watch our third and fourth grade participants on Wednesday, November 13th, at 7:00 PM. Thank you to Mrs. Aurigemma and Mr. Heitman for their hard work with these student athletes!

Our elementary students had the honor of giving a quick cheer to our PVHS Varsity Cheerleaders before they headed to their state competitions this weekend. The cheerleaders visited PVES for a quick pep rally, and the elementary students loved it! Congrats to this amazing team!

Congratulations to Mrs. Lombardi, third grade teacher, on the birth of her daughter this past week! We are so happy to hear of the birth of little Hadley Denise, and we can’t wait to meet her in person. We are so lucky to welcome back Ms. Cierra Espineira, who will be covering Mrs. Lombardi’s class for the next few months. Ms. Espineira is a certified teacher who has covered several long-term substitute positions for us before, always with great skill and care. Our students are in great hands!

Let’s get ready for the PVES Book Fair! Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held in our Auditorium from Monday, November 18th through Friday morning, November 22nd. All classes will be visiting the Fair at a scheduled time during the week. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Thank you to our PTA volunteers for making this possible.

We now begin the second quarter of the school year! Let’s have a great start to this next ten weeks, and please reach out if you have any questions concerning your parent/teacher conference schedule. We truly appreciate your partnership!

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
