Dear PVES Families,

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of the PVES musical, “The Wizard of Oz!”  We are so proud of the work that these students have done to prepare for this delightful performance.  Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun and to Mrs. Phillips for working so hard with our young actors.  The shows will be performed tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in our ES Auditorium.  Tickets are $5 each, as shown in last week’s Weekly Word attachments.  Enjoy!!

Our elementary teachers will be reaching out to some parents to set up Parent/Teacher conferences to be scheduled for Friday afternoon, April 12th.  If you do not get invited to a conference and would like one, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) directly.  We encourage strong home/school communication.  Please remember that our elementary students will be dismissed at 12:00 on Friday, April 12th.  This will be followed by our spring break which will take place from Monday, April 15th through Monday, April 22nd.  Schools will reopen on Tuesday, April 23rd.

Thank you to all who sent in supplies for our Support the Troops drive!  Our Character Education & Diversity Committee has been working very hard on this important initiative, and our students learn so much from these generous efforts.  We look forward to our Character Ed “Support the Troops” Assembly on Monday, March 25th.  This is always such a special event for our PVES community.

Our students continue to make great progress in all academic areas.  It is always so exciting to watch our children grow and thrive, especially during these spring months.  Our third and fourth graders are extremely well-prepared for the state exams (ELA – April 3rd & 4th and Math – May 2nd & 3rd).  Our spring calendar is filled with many enriching events, including our first-ever Sustainability Festival!  Our teachers are working hard to incorporate the important concepts of sustainability into our content areas, and we continue to grow as we learn how to better take care of the world around us.

Thank you to our safety patrollers who continue to do such an amazing job at our arrival and dismissal times to help keep us safe.  We are so proud of these young student leaders!

Have a great weekend ahead!  Keep looking for those signs of spring!

Warmly,
Ms. Podesta
