Dear PVES Families,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope that you are all enjoying a nice family weekend. At PVES, we certainly had fun wearing lots of green on Friday and welcoming our Irish Step Dancers who performed for the entire school! We are so lucky to have such wonderful community support, and the students were all smiles at this special assembly.

Please be sure to get your tickets to the PVEF Casino Night on this Saturday, March 23rd. It’s sure to be a great time, and we thank the PVEF for all they do for our school district.

Good luck to our third and fourth grade performers in the PVES/PTA Musical, Seussical Kids, this Friday! Thank you to Mrs. Calhoun and to Mrs. Phillips for all their hard work with this large and talented cast! Please keep in mind that each audience member must have a ticket to attend the show, and the show is now sold out. We are so proud of our PVES stars of the stage. “Break a leg”!

Our Spring Book Fair will be held from Monday, March 25th, through Thursday, March 28th in our ES Auditorium. More information about the Fair will be sent home with your child this week. Thank you to our PTA volunteers who make this possible for our students.

Thursday, March 28th, will be a school-wide Pajama Day. Our students love a special community theme day, especially right before break. Our Spring Break will take place from Friday, March 29th, through Friday, April 5th. Schools will reopen on Monday, April 8th. In looking ahead, please be aware that elementary students (only) will have a half-day of school on Thursday, May 23rd, at the beginning of Memorial Day Weekend. Please mark your calendars for that early dismissal.

Brief 3rd Quarter Student Progress Reports will be shared with you at the end of April. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academic progress, please contact your child’s teacher. Third and fourth-grade NYS Exams will take place in April and May in the areas of ELA and Math. Our students are very prepared. Thank you always for your support and communication.

We look forward to welcoming families to a special Elementary ENL Night on Thursday, April 25th, at 6:30 PM. More information to follow!

Enjoy the week ahead and the first few days of spring! Spring officially begins on Tuesday at 11:06 PM. At this time of year, the calendar gets even busier, and our students continue to thrive! Bring on the learning, the sun, and the fun!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
