Dear PVES Families,

Welcome to Sustainability Week at PVES! Each grade level will have one day where they take part in learning activities with Mrs. Bruno and Mrs. Broas to learn more about caring for our Earth responsibly. Our fourth graders continue to work on the compositing initiative in the cafeteria, and the Earth Helpers Club is working on recycling materials for good use. Please ask your children this week about all that they are learning about this important theme!

Congratulations to our fourth graders who performed such a wonderful Band and Chorus Spring Concert this past week. We are so proud of our young musicians! Thank you to Mrs. Bennett and to Mr. Durland for their amazing work with our fourth grade students. It was a great show!

This week, all staff and students are invited to wear the colors red, white, and blue for our Flag Day Celebration on Friday, June 12th. We also look forward to our Kindergarten Show that day, which will be performed for families at 2:00. Our third graders will be presenting their Haiku Poetry to families this Tuesday at 1:30.

Next week is Spirit Week! From June 15th through June 18th, our students are invited to take part in the school-wide dress themes for each day, as follows:

Monday 6/15: Crazy Hat & Hair Day
Tuesday 6/16: Silly Socks & Style Day
Wednesday 6/17: Blue & White (extra) Day
Thursday 6/18: Field Day/Grade level colors

Schools will be closed on Friday, June 19th, in honor of Juneteenth. Report Cards will be available online and via U.S. mail after our final day of school, Friday, June 26th.

All library books are due back to our school library this Friday, June 12th. Please remember to have your children check the large Lost & Found Collection in our main lobby. Any remaining items will be donated to charity during the summer months.

We look forward to our Summer Boost Program this summer, along with the Summer Reading Challenge taking place throughout July and August. More information will be mailed to you at the end of June.

Enjoy the busy weeks ahead! We look forward to these festive and productive days ahead with your children!

Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Podesta
Principal
